The electric drivetrain of the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 consists of a new 400 Volt Lithium-Ion battery with a 107.8 kW capacity, AMG tuned battery management, and two (front and rear) permanently excited synchronous electric motors. Together they put out a total of 649-horsepower or 751-horsepower when boosting with RACE START from the AMG Dynamic Plus Package. When you hit the accelerator, the vehicle moves efficiently at an accelerated rate. It sprints 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds normally and 3.4 seconds with Race Start, which is similar to Launch Control. Acura brought the new 2022 NSX Type-S to Austin, TX for the U.S. Grand Prix which will double as Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez’s chariot for the race weekend. The Japanese automaker will deliver 350 editions worldwide with 300 slated for the United State, of which 70 models will come with the menacing Gotham Gray color scheme. Inspired by the NSX GT3 racer, the Type-S supercar features 600-horsepower, a wider track, new Pirelli P-ZERO tires developed from F1 technology, fresh rim styles, lower gearing from the two front motors, more aggressive cooling, and increased battery output. The MDX Type-S is also on deck here. Expect to pay $169,500 for MSRP with the carbon fiber packaging such as the wing offered standard.

The three-display 56” curved glass MBUX Hyperscreen and Multimedia System extends across the entire dashboard from door to door. Standard on the EQS 580, both the driver and passenger receive a 12.3” OLED screen. The central section is a 17.7” OLED touchscreen display, representing as the largest and most sophisticated display in any production vehicle. The Hyperscreen features an Augmented Reality Navigation System including Natural Language Understanding and Keyword Activation (“Hey Mercedes”). For instance, the actual views you see ahead are visually replicated as video on screen when making a turn. It also has a Google Earth-type view when navigating. From the passenger side, I was able to control Nav, massages, music, and much more.

Starting off from the Cavallo Point Lodge at the Golden Gate Bridge, Automotive Rhythms experienced the 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition featuring a 10 mm lowered MagneRide suspension, red Brembo brake calipers, 20” aluminum performance wheels with Ebony Black-painted pockets, specially developed 245/45 R20 Pirelli summer tires, Ford Performance seats (Performance Gray ActiveX seating material), exclusive body styling, 480-horsepower, and a whopping 634 lb.-ft. of torque. Pushing 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, I felt like the vehicle was being catapulted out of a cannon when I took off. Yes, it felt that fast. Moreover, I was even more impressed with the vehicle's handling and braking characteristics on the autocross. Expect an all-electric range of 260 miles from the Mach-E GT Performance Edition.
