The Myrtle Beach Experience from a Newbie
You gotta see it to believe it. Isn’t that what people always say? This was told to me thousands of times from my peers on their experience with Myrtle Beach/Black Bike Week as I embarked on my first ever Black Bike Week experience.
As a newbie, I watched the roads and city swell to become a passageway for fanatics on two wheels. They rode in on everything from old fashioned dropped and stretched CBR F2’s and Katanas to the glamorous chromed out new school single-sided swingarm fat-tire Busa’s!
I felt the energy and force of a lifestyle and people who were just like me. Showing their pride & joy in their machines whether it was chillin’ on the strip or riding amongst the camaraderie of others.
In an instant my senses were overloaded as I felt the growing energy of thousands of bikers. I began to hear it in the rolling thunder of high revving and deep-pitched engines. I saw it in a sea of smiling faces, the bright colors, the chrome, and the high profile personalities. Is that Shaquille O’Neal! At this point, I can now smell the energy, with tires burning from team NO LIMIT stunter Jason Britton! Exhaust fumes fill the air with that subtle hint of race fuel, is that Kawasaki’s Ricky Gadson? Did you see that girl, that bike, that girl, that bike! Yes, yes, and yes!
