What would you rather have at your disposal this very moment; the Ferrari 458 Italia sports car or 5’8” Natalia, your confidant from Italy? Are both mutually exclusive? Do you wish to have your cake and eat it too? Are you more interested in high fashion, fancy dinners, elaborate outings or the concept of aerodynamics, efficiency and technology? Is 562 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque enough power to manage? Or is a size 7 in pumps mated to a white cocktail dress and Louis Vuitton handbag your fancy? I like the sound of 3.4 seconds to 60 mph from standstill and 202 mph top speed. Maybe she sings just as well, or maybe she doesn’t. The Italia seats two. Do you wish to be alone for this ride as she does when she shops? Or maybe Natalia is not the selfish one! Armani suits and cufflinks for the gentleman please. Is an all-aluminum 3,267-pound body too heavy or too light? Does 127 pounds sound more like your cup of tea? A 7-Speed F1 dual clutch gearbox allows for lightening power shifts in the 458. Are you wondering how she shifts her power cards? I hope not. She’s a mystery and leaves much to the imagination. Choose wisely.

Usain Bolt -- 100 & 200 meter world-record holder

If you travel wide, as the greatest musician of all time, Bob “Nesta” Marley suggested then Jamaica continuously pops up on your places to visit list. I frequent the inspirational island four to six times a year. Between the music, the food and the heritage I just can’t seem to get enough, just as Jamaicans can’t seem to get enough of cars and bikes. Especially, the race type. No wonder  the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, is so emphatic about Ferrari and its 458 Italia and 599 GTB Fiorano which he drove on the circuit of the Prancing Horse. (more…)

The Ferrari California is the latest addition to the new generation of Ferraris launched in 2004 with the 612 Scaglietti and joins the Prancing Horse’s 8-cylinder family which has always been defined by power and performance. It also flanks the flagship 612 Scaglietti in the prestige sporty Grand Tourer segment. The new model will be available exclusively as a convertible with a folding hard top. Both chassis and bodywork are aluminum, in line with the rest of the current range. The California will be powered by a new V8 engine mounted for the first time in the mid-front position; a Ferrari first.
