Hooked On Driving Launches Second Instructional DVD,
“Getting On Track”
DVD Provides Automotive Enthusiasts with an Inside Look
at the Basics of Closed-Course Track Driving
Danville, CA, October 18, 2006 - Hooked On Driving LLC, providers of performance driving events and automotive coaching tools, announced the launch of their second track driving instructional DVD, “Getting On Track.” In association with Shell V-Power, the official fuel of Hooked On Driving, “Getting On Track” provides sought-after instruction to help automotive enthusiasts learn how to drive their personal, high-performance vehicles safely on race tracks offering closed-course driving. The video highlights the safety precautions and necessary preparation for a fun, successful track day.
Recognizing the large number of performance vehicles on the road that can’t be driven to their fullest capabilities, Hooked On Driving developed the DVD to demonstrate how closed course driving can provide an outlet for testing one’s driving skills.
“'Getting On Track' encourages viewers to get off the couch and on the track to enjoy their vehicle,” said Karen Wildman, brand and communication manager, Shell Oil Products US. “Shell shares every driver's passion for performance and we are proud to be associated with such a great learning tool.”
The 50-minute DVD provides helpful tips and in-the-driver-seat examples that can prepare any level driver for the track. Segments range from “Learning the Line,” which covers the fundamental approach to a first day at the track, to “Heel and Toe Demonstration,” which provides a visual explanation on a highly beneficial downshifting skill.
“I am extremely proud of the 'Getting On Track' DVD and excited to share it with automotive enthusiasts everywhere,” said David Ray, founder of Hooked On Driving. “As a track driving enthusiast myself, I understand the importance of learning essential track driving and safety skills, and have experienced the benefits first-hand. At Hooked On Driving, it’s our goal to encourage the progression of skill on the track, so we’re thrilled for the opportunity to share this knowledge and passion through our latest DVD production.”
In addition to general track driving instruction, “Getting On Track” features a full vehicle tech inspection with top BMW tuner Steve Dinan of Dinan Engineering, comments from Shell fuels expert Jim Macias, and personal driving tips from Daytona 24-hour champion Randy Pobst.
“The DVD discusses how to get the most out of your vehicle and at Shell, we feel a part of that process is using a high-quality fuel, like Shell V-Power, that can actually clean your engine as your drive,” continued Wildman.
In addition to Shell V-Power and Dinan Engineering, other sponsors of the DVD include Roush Performance Products, Stillen, Arai Helmets, and Piloti Driving Shoes. Hooked On Driving's “Getting On Track” is currently available for purchase online at www.hookedondriving.com.
