Kari Feinstein’s 2008 MTV Movie Awards Style Lounge: Swag, AR Rides, Stylish Fashion & Ciroc Diddy Drinks!
Touched down in LA around 9:10pm, quickly shuttled to the auto park garage where a 2009 Jaguar XKR Supercharged candy rose drop was ready, willing and able to grace the celebrity specific city of angels, West Hollywood. Arrived at the Le Montrose Suite Hotel, checked in and skated out to the Standard on Sunset. There, I was reunited with the dynamic duo Mr. Kimatni Rawlins & Mr. Sean McKoy who were sporting the beautiful Bentley Flying Spur; collectively, we present the perfect position…”the formula.”
For the weeks’ festivities Kari Feinstein/Mike McGuiness PR hosted a celebrity Style Lounge for the 2008 MTV Movie Awards. This gifting suite took place high up in the hills of Bel Air. The Automotive Rhythms team, all geared up in Puma’s latest collaborative offering, Yo! MTV Raps, arrived on site and went right to work. This year’s Style Lounge saw well over 25 sponsors showcasing their latest and greatest products to Hollywood’s finest in film, music, sports and art. With support from the likes of Andrew Keegan, Jessica Szohr, Christina Milian, the Kardashians and auto enthusiast Wilmer Valderrama, the lounge was flowing with energy.
Some of the products and services provided for the celebrity attendees were all unique accordingly. Upon entry to the Style Lounge we noticed an arena of fedora hats and custom brim fitteds. Goorin Brothers, four generations into the business, utilizes a distinct approach to the retail hat market. By choosing not to mass market their brand, it draws exclusivity and allows for Goorin consumers to purchase one off's or items in very limited production. AR publisher Kimatni “K-Raw” Rawlins says he’s found his new luxury hat line. “I’m like L.L. Well almost. I wear hats religiously, just not to bed as “L” has done in videos,” K-Raw stated. Better Bacon apparel brings the most pure and original art to date, via the ability to collaborate directly with developmentally disabled artists. With the line sheet in reach, each artist’s designs come complete with an explanation and motivation behind the creation. LELO, a Swedish sex life accessory label produces luxury pleasure toys.
It’s not all about product or swag at the Style lounge. Service upon service swept the scene from massages to pedicures to pure styling. HairXpressions by Skin Beauty CA literally styled celebrities on site. Another service on site came from the skies above. Halcyon Jets creates magic up yonder for individuals wanting to separate themselves from the norm.
To Infiniti and beyond!
With a fleet of Infiniti SUVs flooding the hills and driving celebrities like Kelis and Milian to and from the Nimes Road mansion, you would think that Infiniti just unleashed an I-Robotic invasion! The gold crusted 2009 FX lead the charge as the official shuttle for the celebrity attendees of the MTV Style Lounge.
Lights, Camera, Aston!
After your Infiniti drop-off, you then meet up with the 2008 Aston Martin VANTAGE convertible. The VANTAGE shines seamlessly in a clean colorway of white on ruby red with chrome accessories. In the midst of companies displaying their latest gear, wears and tears, agent double iCan head nods to agent 009 K-Raw, ignition initiated, the Aston Martin DBS! All heads turn to focus on the feature piece by Aston Martin, the 2009 DBS soon to be highlighted in the newest James Bond flick. From the passenger seat to the driver’s seat, celebs engaged often with the DBS considering its availability and limited exclusivity to the public. “The waiting list is pretty extensive. Even pre-owners want to take the show model around in anticipation for their delivery,” says Aston Martin of Beverley Hill’s Michael Artone.
Ciroc around the clock with Sean John to rock!
The most visited area at the Lounge by far was the Ciroc bar! Sitting front and center at the main door of the mansion and in the middle of the movement Ciroc presented to the general public and VIPs alike with their newest creative concoction: the Diddy Lemonade (2 oz. of CIROC, 1 oz. of Lemonade, and a splash of ginger ale). With staff cruising through the celebrity crowd serving trays topped with Ciroc martinis, the beautifully decorated bar consisted of fresh flowers, hand towels, libations to all and Sean John gift bags. Contents included a SJ track jacket (black or gray), 375 ml bottle of Ciroc, latest publication by Automotive Rhythms, with a splash of Sneaker Suit. The Art of Luxury was enhanced ten fold with the Aston Martin DBS to the right of the bar.
Yo! MTV Raps Puma? Where’d you get those?
Very rare do you find collaborations in the retail world making it unique. The year 2008 found Puma paying homage to Yo! MTV Raps’ 20 years in the game with a sexy sole spasm of colors, textures and forward footwear designs and architectures, making PUMA x Yo! MTV Raps one of the most sought after products this year! Almost daily were folks focused on the Hi-top Pink PUMA first round edition, 3rd series Yo! MTV release. With the yellow outlined marquee and a clean white toebox, this shoe is an instant attention getter. The team enjoyed the ergo dynamic PUMA models of the performance based RS-100, and the Suede Patent product with patent leather on the toebox and suede uppers.
Topping off the AR outfits was fresh gear from newcomer Parish. Their array of colors, unique stitching and Obama like slogans puts Parish is a very exclusive fashion league.
