The Timonium Motorcycle Show takes place annually at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland with the hottest custom and new motorcycles. This event is the place to see the newest model sportbikes, cruisers, customs, dirt bikes, ATVs, aftermarket parts and accessories and more all under one roof. Dozens of manufacturers including Harley-Davidson, Ducati, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki and more were on display for the visual pleasure of all.
Riders from all walks of life were at the show, as it was the place for people who love motorcycles to fully embrace the motorcycle culture, converse with experts and commune with fellow enthusiasts. In addition to hundreds of the latest bikes, the show included music, contests and more.
During the show, I met with Roger Lyle from Roger Lyle’s Motorcycle Xcitement Track Days and Road Racing School. It was an absolute pleasure to talk to him and learn all about what his school has to offer. Roger explained how his school helps riders improve their skills with hours of instruction and quality track time in the safety of a closed racecourse. The events are held at the Shenandoah and Summit Point circuits at Summit Point Motorsports Park near Charlestown, West Virginia.
Cruising the show floor brought me to one of the nicest custom bikes I’ve ever seen. It was a purple Yamaha R1 that was done by Krystos Efantis at MSP Motorsports Performance. The bike was totally overhauled from the front fairing, lights, air ride suspension, custom frame and swingarm, 300 mm tire and a host of the other detailed pieces. This bike is purely a work of art. After talking with Krystos, he is very passionate about his work and is full of ideas. He comes from a family that is ingrained in the automotive culture and plans to keep his passion going with his motorcycle shop.
Being a motorcycle rider myself, attending this show was a great way to see what will be on the streets this upcoming season and what new things are being offered to the motorcycle community.
