At the 2011 North American International Auto Show the excitement wasn’t just in the American territory. Volkswagen revealed their new mid-sized Passat, which is larger, prettier and more efficient than the previous model. The increased size is to compete closely with the Camry and Accord. They’re also talking about a reduced price of roughly $8,000 on the 2012 model to perhaps increase sales — but looking at Passat — our guess is people who want it will be happy to pay to have its features match its great looks. Plus, the sedan will be built in America and come with three engine options, including a 4-cylinder diesel with an 800-mile range. Unbelievable.
