Mercedes-AMG presents an extreme version of the celebrated SLS with the announcement of the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series. Inspired by the SLS AMG GT3 race car, the 5th Black Series model from the company focuses on lightweight construction in line with the “AMG Lightweight Performance” strategy. Its AMG 6.3-liter V8 engine generates 622 horsepower and accelerates the SLS to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Key performance technologies include AMG Adaptive Performance Suspension, AMG high-performance ceramic two-piece brake system and forged AMG light-alloy wheels with new sport tires. Additional highlights incorporate the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission with aggressive shift and response times. Expect to see the new Black Series the summer of 2013.
