Experienced by Kimatni D. Rawlins
Yes, at the time of this writing my Philadelphia Eagles are undefeated and flying high over the competition. Thus, what better way to celebrate the Rawlins family fandom than a road trip to see the squad play at home in Lincoln Financial Field against the Pittsburg Steelers. For the short journey from Maryland to The City of Brotherly Love, Lexus scheduled Automotive Rhythms in an Eagles Green 2022 LX 600 Ultra Luxury SUV with an array of amenities for a relaxing and comforting road trip. But actually, the official hue is Nori Green Pearl.
For its 4th generation homecoming, Lexus completely redesigned and re-engineered its LX 600 flagship to compete with more vigor against the Range Rover, QX56, and Escalade. Thus, when the Eagle landed for a weekly review, I knew the innovators from The Land of the Rising Sun were onto something. Beginning with classy 22” forged aluminum rims, an efficient, high-torque 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine, and a refreshing pyramid-styled spindle grille with seven horizontal slates, the truck sailed gloriously on Highway 95 North. Engine power is stellar as the powertrain produces 409-horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, while the elegant paddle shifters allowed me to control the 10-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission with fluidity.
The grandeur of the LX 600 Ultra Luxury model lies within its opulent cabin, especially the 4-seat Ultra Luxury grade, which we were blessed with. The interior is augmented by reclining and massaging rear-seat captain chairs using NASA body positioning research, diamond-stitched semi-aniline leather, ambient illumination such as Rainforest, Waterfall, and Sunset, and open-pore wood trims including the artisan-crafted black veneers in my loaner vehicle. It also features one-touch auto-arrange power folding seats, a power tilt-and-slide moonroof, premium triple-beam LED headlamps and LED taillamps, and a cooler that sits between the front seats.
We rolled up to the stadium in style for tailgating and camaraderie with hometown fans who reveled at our new LX 600. With the 25-speaker 2,400-watt Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system, there was no need for a separate speaker, and the cooler box held six beverages which were plenty for a party of four. Remember that the new LX is not just a touring vehicle for date nights, proms, and weddings. It’s your gateway into a lifestyle ripe with exciting experiences and new opportunities at every turn.
Of course, we always felt safe and sound behind the heated-wood and leather-trimmed steering wheel. Available in five trims — Standard, Premium, Luxury, F SPORT, and Ultra Luxury — a profusion of safety features and technologies set the mark for your SUV beginning with Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 which consists of a suite of specific active safety innovations. A few include All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System, Frontal Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.
The game was special as we won easily and drove away joyfully Sunday evening with a 7–0 record. So now let’s keep the momentum going!
