To honor professional athletes in town for ESPN’s ESPY Awards, hosted by Mad Men’s Jon Hamm, BMW and Automotive Rhythms held a private and congratulatory dinner experience at the wondrous SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. To respect one another’s stellar year of performance, pros from every sport imaginable converged in LA for a few days of recognition, networking and entertainment. The elegant evening was also a platform to test-drive BMW’s all-new 2014 M6 Gran Coupe, M5, 760 Li and Alpina B7. Guests had an enjoyable experience taking spins in their favorite Bimmer.
Phase two of the affair consisted of a dazzling 12-course meal on the Terrace of The Bazaar by José Andrés, an internationally recognized and culinary innovator who was named to Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World.” BMW VPs were in attendance to greet the private group of forty athletes, actors, agents, and industry executives including NaVorro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers, Ramses Barden of the NY Giants; Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks, Nick Young of the LA Lakers, Geno Atkins of the Cincinnati Bengals, Boxer Austin Trout, actor Omar Benson Miller, and Nike VP of Football Operations Cliff King.
As impressive as the cars and conversation were, the food is what conjured the greatest reactions from dinner guests. The almost endless menu included Codfish Fritters, Jicama Wrapped Guacamole, Croquettas de Pollo, Bagel and Lox Cone, Sweet Potato Chips, Olives, Jamón, Endive, Organized Caesar, Market Cevice and Avocado Rolls, Mussels, Papas Canarias, Sautéed Shrimp, Brussels Sprouts, Butifarra Senator Moynihan, Escalivada, Braised Wagyu Beef Cheeks, and Philly Cheesesteaks. Quite impressive!
