A Curated Evening of Automotive Style at Motorlux 2025

Experienced by Uthman Ray

Welcome to Motorlux 2025, the premier opening event of Monterey Car Week, known for its blend of rare autos, aviation, culinary experiences, and VIP hospitality.

The exclusive experience featured more than 275 cars, aircraft, motorcycles, and 25 culinary offerings, including dishes from Michelin-starred chefs. The evening also incorporated 30 winery pourings and 15 premium spirits. And of course, since the celebration was hosted at the Monterey Jet Center, the presentation included seven salient jets such as the Honda Jet, two classic helicopters, and five planes showcased within the captivating aviation exhibitions.

One of the most interesting vehicles highlighted at Motorlux was the Jaguar Type 00 concept, which continues its world tour in flamboyant fashion. Finished in a bespoke French Ultramarine hue manifested by Jaguar’s in-house design team, the electric fastback represents the future of Jaguar’s creative ethos. A boat‑tail rear profile and 23” alloy wheels accentuate the elongated silhouette.

Additionally, the evening transformed into an elevated culinary experience with an impressive range of cuisine to appease the appetite while the cars satisfied the soul. While guests and customers mingled amongst one another, their enthusiasm was heightened by admiration for four major automotive themes:

  • The Mercedes Maestro – Celebrating the late Bruno Sacco with standout designs such as the 190E 2.3-16
  • America’s Wild Horse – 60 Years of the Ford Mustang, from the 1965 Fastback to the all-new 2025 Mustang GTD
  • 200 MPH Club – Icons from the 1980s to today, including the Ferrari F40 and new Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
  • From Stuttgart with Love – A tribute to Porsche, featuring the Porsche 963 RSP; Penske’s one-of-one prototype

“Welcoming Motorlux guests means constantly raising the bar on entertainment and hospitality,” said Logan Calkins, Director of Events at Hagerty. “We can’t wait to host thousands of luxury and automotive enthusiasts as they reunite with longtime friends and Monterey Car Week’s kick-off at Motorlux.”

Motorlux proudly supports the CHP 11-99 Foundation, assisting California Highway Patrol families in crisis. The event also benefits the Navy Postgraduate School Foundation, with members of the school’s car club volunteering at the event and assisting with the Broad Arrow Auction. See you next year at Motorlux 2026!
