It was during Automotive Rhythms’ Furious 7 premiere in Atlanta Georgia when Big Tigger broke out his 2015 Polaris Slingshot, the newest and hottest vehicle to hit the streets. Described as a mix between a motorcycle and a sports car, the Polaris is exciting to drive and refreshing to own. Our aftermarket partner, JL Audio, were delighted to add their classic touch to the 3-wheeler. Big Tigger accepted the challenge and the custom build began. After much consideration Car Tunes of Atlanta was chosen as the installer for this project and ultimately did a magnificent job.
To begin the process JL Audio sent over a full audio system consisting of a M400/4: 4-Channel Class D Marine Full-Range Amplifier, a M600/1: Monoblock Class D Marine Subwoofer Amplifier, two pairs of the MX650-CCX-SG-WH: MX Series Oversized 6.5” Marine Cockpit Coaxial System, one PCS2-2B: Premium 2 AWG 12V Power Connection System for the two amplifiers and two 10TW1-4: TW1 10” Subwoofer Drivers. The package turned Tigger’s factory system into a concert on wheels. You will also notice the need for Marine grade materials since the components are exposed to weather elements.
In addition to the installation of the JL audio system, Cartunes of Atlanta added LED running lights, custom HID headlights, fog lights, custom seats, a carbon fiber dashboard, carbon fiber stripes along the body, a tinted windshield, tinted taillights and a race steering wheel. And no build is complete without a bit of performance work so Cartunes addressed that with a cold air intake and exhaust package. Yet, we didn’t stop there! Butler Tires quickly jumped on the opportunity by offering a custom wheel package. A few calls were made and Lexani signed onto the project with a set of 22” Lexani Savani BM13s. Pirelli also contributed with a set of rubber. With the Slingshot now complete the unveiling was highly anticipated at the ATL Slingshot Takeover which was a follow up from the success of the DMV Slingshot Takeover with promoters @TableBoyz & @CleanCashPeezy.
Set amidst the cloudy and damp backdrop of the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the ATL Slingshot Takeover welcomed Polaris Industries Slingshot owners and enthusiast for a day like no other. Fueled by Freedom Powersports McDonough and hosted by TV and V103 personality as well as motorsports enthusiast Darian “BIG TIGGER” Morgan, the event rolled on triumphantly despite the weather as evidenced by several hundred in attendance including the Slingshot contingent from the #DMV representing the north.

Have you ever dreamt of experiencing a world-renowned circuit? Well, this was that opportunity with free track time to demo the latest motorized sensations taking the powersports industry by storm, but to also put in a few hot laps with your personal Slingshot. The day kicked off at Freedom Powersports with an open house including refreshments and deals on all Slingshot apparel and helmets. Then it was all sights on Atlanta Motorsport Speedway for the main event consisting of the aforementioned demo rides, free track time and a custom Polaris Slingshot show with more than $5,000 in prizes awarded in gift cards, cash and accessories including a fresh set of Lexani rims. Vendors were also on site offering and showing off an array of aftermarket products and gifts for the winners.
