Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s 40th Annual Legislative Conference
Automotive Rhythms (AR) & VW played an integral role in the 40th Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) in Washington, DC. Celebrating the vision, continuing the journey and advancing the mission, the CBCF is one of the premier voices in addressing critical challenges facing the African-American community. For the past four decades, ALC has provided a forum to highlight the mission, developing leaders, informing policy and educating the public.
ALC also gives Automotive Rhythms and the Foundation an opportunity to showcase its exceptional interns and fellow programs – which are changing the blue print on Capitol Hill. For 2010, AR provided the CBCF with four VW vehicles to transport congressional members to and from town hall meetings, receptions, conferences and galas. These eco conscious vehicles were fitting for AR’s AutoGanic messaging which educates consumers on the benefits of clean energy vehicles. Did you know the Touareg TDI, VW’s clean diesel technology realizes diesel’s full potential with improved performances, increased mileage, Jeep like off-road abilities and a 95 percent drop in soot emissions. Not to mention the 2011 VW Jetta has room for five real-sized adults and best in class rear legroom. And who can forget about the “carefree” maintenance program that covers maintenance for 3 years or 36,000 miles? Also, did you know the Jetta is a perennial top safety choice for small sedans?
To end the fascinating, empowering and educational week, AR hosted a CBCF mixer at Park on 14th to celebrate the emancipation of AutoBahl: The Green Anthem, a soon-to-be annual CBCF gala to honor the work of green energy trailblazers, digital media advancements, fashion and technological improvements in the way we live and communicate. Hosted by Automotive Rhythms’ president and publisher Kimatni D. Rawlins and singer and poet Carolyn Malachi, the evening commingled CBCF members, delegates, media, auto enthusiasts, philanthropists, entrepreneurs and entertainers.
Thank you VW for your vision and foresight. See you in 2011.
