2010 North American International Auto Show
At this year’s Detroit Auto Show, the mood—and most of the new cars and concepts—were pretty serious. It was all about electricity and efficiency, which means small vehicles. There were several new hybrids, plenty of looks at ways to green up the auto world. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, but it’s not very exciting. Last year at this show, the impact of the economy on sales was clear and devastating, but there was product in the pipeline. This year, there were plenty of concept vehicles and press conferences full of talk, but no new products and few production vehicle launches.
