GoPro, the world’s most versatile camera, is stepping up its presence at the 2012 SEMA Show with a keynote by Founder and CEO Nick Woodman, sharing how his pursuit for racing fueled GoPro’s growth as a passion capture company. He will also touch on GoPro’s latest innovation, the new HERO3 camera.
The HERO3 is the newest and most technologically advanced line of cameras and very suited to the automotive world. Each camera in the lineup features built-in Wi-Fi and is 30% smaller, 25% lighter and 2X more powerful than previous GoPro models. The HERO3: Black Edition is capable of capturing ultra-wide angle HD video at 1080p-60 frames per second (fps), 1440p-48 fps, 720p-120 fps, 2.7Kp-30 fps and 4Kp-15 fps. The HERO3: Black Edition can also capture 12MP photos at a staggering rate of 30 photos per second. As part of the HERO3 line, GoPro also introduced Silver and White editions to give consumers more opportunities to select the camera with the capabilities and price point that is right for them.
As well, and for the first-time ever the Global RallyCross Championship is bringing its last event of the year to SEMA. As the Official Camera of the Global RallyCross Championship, GoPro will provide racing fans a “GoPro Course Preview,” giving viewers a firsthand look – from the driver’s perspective – at the obstacles the competitors must tackle while charging full-speed around the track. Spectators will have the opportunity to see superstars like GoPro’s sponsored driver Ken Block in high-energy, door-to-door rallycross action.
