Hyundai Hope On Wheels visits the Marine Corp Historic Half and Semper Fred 5K

It was a wet and chilly day at the Marine Corp Half Marathon and Semper Fred 5K held in Virginia at the Fredericksburg Expo and Conference Center. The run took us to Central Park, through the historic downtown streets and up the now famous Hospital Hill. The challenge of the hill-induced course and the inclement weather conditions brought more reason and solidarity to the 8,000 runners that crossed the finish line.

With race medals dangling across proud participants, we were especially touched by 9-year-old Mika Sumi who finished her 3rd 5K of the year and another 9-year-old who ran a 1:45 in the Half. Hyundai Hope On Wheels, by far the leading auto brand to help kids fight cancer, raises awareness and donates funds for the research of the chronic and degenerative disease. Since 1998 every Hyundai dealer has donated $14 from the sale of each vehicle to Hope On Wheels for an aggregate total of $58 million to children’s hospitals and organizations nationwide.
