Atlanta’s Influential “Fly Guy DC” Connects with the Enticing 2021 Lexus IS

Thoughts by Kimatni D. Rawlins

Sporty, dynamic, and energetic descriptively describes the fusion of both Audley “Fly Guy DC” Feemster and the all-new 2021 Lexus IS performance sedan. In typical fashion, the Automotive Rhythms (ARtv) team of auto connoisseurs will be heading to The ATL for A Day in the Life video shoot with Fly Guy DC, a millennial radio and television personality, entrepreneur, and philanthropist based in the vibrant city. Our brand strategy is simple: to fuse fresh, innovative personas from urban culture with the array of sophisticated and technological vehicles from the Lexus squadron.

Attentive and keen on situational awareness, the influential host surrounds himself around defining labels and products from kicks to tech to performance cars. A few of Fly Guy DC’s pairings include Footaction, Adidas, Reebok, and AT&T to name a few. With the addition of the 2021 Lexus IS union, the momentum continues literally and allegorically. I’m sure he’s going to enjoy the improved cornering and stability from the compact luxury sports sedan’s optimized handling, which was born and bred at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama in Japan’s Aichi Prefecture close to Lexus’s global headquarters. As a frequent visitor to Nihon (Nippon), aka “The Land of the Rising Sun,” I can attest firsthand to the methodical philosophies instilled into Japanese engineering. Yet, it is accomplished with a semblance of meditative balance. The test course features 3.3-miles of local topography, a nearly 250-foot elevation change, and numerous curves and corners.

The compelling Fly Guy DC is an advocate of cultivating gratifying experiences for his partners and strides great lengths to ascertain that all parties are appeased. Similarly, he will also be satisfied with the high-level skills and driving acumen the IS delivers. Hence, if you only thought Lexus vehicles were designed with luxury in mind, then you have been misled. Starting at $39,000, the feisty 2021 IS is reimagined with an aggressively sculpted exterior and a broader stance to represent another homerun for the automaker. The IS 300 mainly rocks with a 2-liter Turbo I4 while the $42,900 IS 350 RWD F SPORT gets down with a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 that kicks out 311-horsepower and reaches a top speed of 143 mph. The F SPORT also rolls with 19” rims and features an available F SPORT Dynamic Handling Package. Both models come in FWD and AWD platforms. But keep in mind, although the IS is vigorous, it is not precisely a track vehicle.

“What we had foremost in mind in developing the new IS was to make it a car that excelled in communicating with the driver regardless of the road conditions or driving situation,” said Chief Engineer Naoki Kobayashi of Lexus International. “We aimed to make the new IS a Lexus compact sports sedan that provides high-quality riding comfort while offering a high level of vehicle control.”

Inside the modish cabin, the fashionable millennial and audiophile will enjoy the expansive 10.3” touchscreen and powerful Mark Levinson audio system with navigation, multimedia, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa integration. The interior also comprises standard NuLuxe-trimmed seating, a 10-way power driver seat, a dual-zone automatic climate control, a power moonroof, and SmartAccess with push-button start. This ride should be ideal for someone christened as one of Atlanta’s Top 20 Millennials. Commingling worlds with Jeezy, London On Da Track, YFN Lucci, Lil Baby, Da Baby, 6lack, Post Malone, and several other notable music artists, Fly Guy DC is on track for continued industry elevation. As he expands into television, including BET, MTV, and Nickelodeon, the charismatic and quick-witted talent is nothing less than a consummate professional who I wholeheartedly wish all the best.

As they say, iron sharpens iron. Until we release the Atlanta video shoot, please enjoy our photo gallery with the two titans.
