Each year during Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend auto aficionados, collectors and media from around the globe attend “The Quail: A motorsports Gathering” to witness some of the finest classic cars, exclusive concepts, rare motorcycles and newly released luxury models. Now a Peninsula Signature Event 2012 marks the 10th Anniversary of The Quail. With such an intimate and prestigious environment Jaguar decided to make this event the launching pad and North American debut for their sumptuous XJL Ultimate.
Special guest and Jaguar enthusiast Wyclef Jean was in attendance to greet owners and converse with Jaguar designers and executives on the future of the XJL Ultimate. With a U.S. production run of only 30 copies in Black Amethyst, expect the $155,000 ultra-luxurious vehicle to be a must have for potential owners. Exclusive features include a rear seat business table elevated by the touch of a button and bespoke beverage flutes available in a dedicated storage area beneath the powered table. A beverage cooler and dual iPads add to the conveniences of the interior cabin.
Also on display in the Jaguar lounge were the high-performance XKR-S and the 1963 Red E-Type shown in Mad Men. Many will recall Christina Hendricks’ character, Joan Holloway, asking Don Draper, “Oh honey, what’s that?” as she approached the eye-catching iconic E-Type.
