In the heart of Detroit, MI, Ford Motor Company allowed Automotive Rhythms to preview its all-new Expedition in grand fashion while showcasing various models and forward-thinking technologies. Although the XXL family SUV was born and bred in America, it is as versatile and multi-talented as a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife.
From a 24” panoramic digital display and expanded BlueCruise hands-free highway driving to the Ford Split Gate for tailgating and Google Play for downloading lifestyle Apps, the 2025 Ford Expedition is primed for a digital and active family affair. Now in its 5th generation, the wholly redesigned SUV is heavily focused on extended households that engage in travel, adventure, and sporting activities. Excitingly, for those with a more profound passion for the great outdoors, whether camping or off-roading for fun, the Expedition Tremor model will satisfy all your ambitions to perfection.

Onsite, Ford discussed an array of packages and unifying descriptions that constitute the Expeditions’ family-orienting nature. Executives describe the flagship SUV as a One Car Wonder since it provides the driver and passengers with every driving need on the road. Amenities include the Third-Row Flexible Seating with a long center isle for extended objects like skis or fishing poles and a Flex Powered Console that moves forward and back to reveal secret storage compartments. Linger Longer describes the capability of entertaining your guests through the Cargo Tailgate Manager (a shelving and table system) and Exterior Zone Lighting to keep the party going after your team’s victory.

The last term, Better Together, fixates on every passenger’s digital needs, such as the Digital Device Holder on the back of the front seat headrests. This is part of the new Ford Digital Experience, which Ford calls a one-of-a-kind family command center. The 24” Panoramic Display – the largest in the segment — becomes the nucleus of the vehicle and features a WiFi hotspot that can support ten devices up to 50 feet away. Google Maps seamlessly integrates your phone maps, and the default Google Assistant voice aid ascertains that you are headed in the right direction with the proper intel to get you there. While cruising, mom, dad, and the kids will enjoy audiobooks, podcasts, and streaming music from Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible, and iHeartRadio, or can listen to SiriusXM with 360L. Moreover, while stationary at the campsite, everyone can select a movie to watch, laugh at the latest reels from YouTube and Prime Video, or even tap into some gaming, including a Ford-exclusive version of Asphalt Nitro 2 racing. Lastly, the FordPass app turns your phone into a digital key to start, stop, lock, and unlock the Expedition.

Potential owners can choose the standard-wheelbase Expedition or the Expedition MAX with increased length. But the day’s most exciting news was witnessing the first-ever Ford Expedition Tremor off-roader. The adventurous SUV is enhanced with 4WD, underbody protection, 33” General Graber all-terrain tires (275/70/18), Trail Turn Assist and Trail 1-Pedal, 10.6” of ground clearance, off-road dedicated lights, and Tremor traditional Electric Space Orange trim pieces including the rims, logo, front lower grille, and tow hooks. Keep in mind Tremor is available only on the short wheelbase. Power resonates from a 440-horsepower / 510-lb.-ft. of torque 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 high-output engine and its drive mode system includes Rock Crawl Mode for apparent reasons. Ford re-tuned the suspension and electric power-assisted steering systems and added running boards and a front skid plate reminiscent of the Raptor.
Expect the new 2025 Ford Expedition to hit the scenes in the summer of 2025. So, now is the perfect time to plan your family’s vacation getaways for next year.
