Jerod Shelby, Founder and CEO of Shelby SuperCars is confident that his company can take on Bugatti mile for mile. The vehicle is projected to top out at 276 mph with a zero to sixty time of 2.5 seconds. Jason Castriota, designer of Ferrari’s P4/5 Pininfarina and Maserati’s Birdcage approached the Tuatara’s design task with vigor and enthusiasm. It’s the reason the new SSC resembles a sci-fi project opposed to something the department of transportation categorizes as an automobile. The Carbon Fiber body outfits a 7-liter DOHC twin turbo V8? ?with 1350 horsepower and either the corresponding 7-speed manual H-Pattern or 7-speed SMG paddle shift? transmission.
