HEMI fans can now rejoice: Not only does the mega-powerful Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat return for 2026, but it’s now fully customizable with an upcoming Jailbreak trim.
First debuting on the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcat models in 2023, Jailbreak allows you to customize the supercharged family hauler however you prefer, including six 20-inch wheel choices (with painted Brembo brakes), six new exterior hues with optional add-on dual stripe designs, and five new interior shades. Other amenities comprise a sunroof, 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, SRT-branded black exhaust tips, and a tow hitch. Cosmetic details that aren’t immediately noticeable can also be incorporated, such as the pigment of the seatbelts and the style of the Hellcat badge.

Under the hood lies the same 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 that muscle-car enthusiasts know and love. It produces 710-horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. For those unfamiliar, HEMI refers to the engine’s hemispherical-shaped combustion chamber, which boasts enthusiastic delivery over a conventional wedge-shaped design. And performance it surely delivers; the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak rumbles from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and maxes out at 180 mph. That’s impressive for an SUV of this magnitude.
“The Dodge SRT Hellcat Jailbreak gives customers the opportunity to make their muscle SUV unique,” says Dodge CEO Matt McAlear. “We can’t wait to see what our buyers dream up on the road.”

Exterior paint options available through Jailbreak include Destroyer Gray, Diamond Black, Octane Red, Vapor Gray, White Knuckle, and a new one called Green Machine. However, more colors may arrive soon, as a Stryker Purple Durango SRT Hellcat was recently spotted in Detroit being filmed for a commercial alongside the Hurricane inline 6-powered version of the Charger Daytona. The aforementioned Hellcat exterior badging can be optioned in Silver, Red, Midnight Metallic, and Brass finishes, while fender badges offer an exclusive orange or yellow finish. The Durango SRT Hellcat can be equipped with red, red/black, silver, gunmetal, or blue dual stripes for owners aiming for more magnetism. Additionally, the hood can be painted in Gloss Black.

Since the Dodge Challenger and Charger ceased production a few years ago, the Durango Hellcat has become the only SRT vehicle that Dodge currently sells. However, this nearly wasn’t the case; the HEMI-powered SUV was on its way out with a “Last Call” limited-run edition, the SRT 392 AlcHEMI, sold in 2024. Due to emission regulations and the push for more fuel-friendly vehicles, the HEMI engine was slated for a cease and desist. But, earlier this year, Stellantis announced it would re-enter production, saving the Durango SRT from extinction. Other returning V8-powered models are the Ram 1500 and the beastly off-road 1500 TRX pickup truck.
Orders for the 2026 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak open on August 13th; deliveries are expected later this year. If I could own one, I’d create a unit in Octane Red with black stripes. How would you spec yours?
