Words fall short when describing the uplifting energy from our visit to Bikes and Breakfast in Poolesville, MD as part of Automotive Rhythms and Throttle Life’s GMC powered Adventure Tour with the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X. This popular event series and meetup allows multiple riding genres to gather and share their two-wheel passions in an enthusiastic setting.
Bikes and Breakfast offers an eclectic mix of motorcycles including vintage, sport, adventure, tourers, baggers, and bobbers. Speaking of bobbers, our sporty Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight had ample room in the 62.9 cu.-ft. bed showcasing the versatility and utility of the Sierra 1500 AT4X, aka Big Red. With a powerful stance, smooth ride, and sharp handling, urban riders will command attention with their cycle riding in the back of the AT4X. Moreover, the standard six-function MultiPro Tailgate simplifies loading and unloading no matter what the object is. The MultiPro audio system from KICKER was also enjoyable as several attendees witness and experienced.
Big Red was in great company with Bobs BMW Motorcycle and Zero Motorcycles on-site to demo a few of their latest bikes including the all-new urban-commuter and zero emissions scooter known as the CE 04. Zero Motorcycles showed-out with a branded rig for test rides of its entire fleet which clearly signaled a succinct opportunity to organically introduce Big Red. Of course, hauling any of these bikes would be no problem with 420-horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque produced from the 6.2-liter Ecotec V8 that is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with multiple driving modes and paddle shifters.
Once inside the cab, our enthusiasts experienced the sporty-luxury of the Obsidian Rush interior with white piping and red stitching and soothing 16-way powered front massaging seats. The reactions were priceless!
Thanks to Big Red’s commanding presence and rugged good looks with its bold grille design, prominent badging, and the elevating 2-inch lift standing tall on 18-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac MT tires, we had the pleasure of meeting a bevy of great people such as Angelette Aviles, Digital Publisher of “If These Wheels Could Talk” rolling on her Adventure Touring GS 750. Motivating health and fitness crew, Body Goals Fit Collective, led by wellness coach and “Moto Mamma” Rue Hemmings made their mark with a Soft Tail Darkside custom, Road King, and a Café Racer.
Our vehicle’s MSRP is $73,300 with a $76,790 price-as-tested tag. Stay tuned for more upcoming stops by Throttle Life and Automotive Rhythms in this Motorsports world of power and action. Let’s Ride!
