The BMW family has been so gracious to the Automotive Rhythms family over the years, so once the 2015 BMW 435i xDrive Coupe landed in our laps, we couldn’t wait to get it out on the road and increase demand for the brand. Complete with the M Sport package, this was indeed a thrilling experience. The tested vehicle priced at $56,600 including options such as the aforementioned M Sport, Cold Weather package, Driver Assistance package and the Dynamic Handling Package.
Some may wonder what these unique packages represent from BMW. Well, the M Sport package provides the allure of an M vehicle and comes equipped with 18” rims, sport seats, an aerodynamic kit and a few other aesthetic additions. The Cold Weather package is a life saver when cold months arrive. The heated steering wheel, heated front seats and retractable headlight washers will make for a comfortable and pleasurable driving experience. The Driver’s Assistance package is always helpful with the rear view camera and the park distance control. Lastly the driving experience has been increased by towards more performance with the Dynamic Handling package which is presented with the adaptive M suspension as well as variable sport steering. Each component listed adds ingredients to the German automobile’s beastly nature.
The power and performance that help the 4 Series live up to its German heritage emanates from a 3-liter, 24 valve, inline 6-cylinder engine with high precision direct injection made. Acceleration was stellar when I put the pedal to the metal. Longer, lower, and wider than the 3-Series, the 4 Series is attractive. As a luxury 2-door coupe, the 435i’s lightweight chassis seemed to be clear of noise and vibration issues.
The 435i has a sleek silhouette and sporty character that will definitely catch the eye of admirers and keep the luxurious reputation intact for the German brand. All in all, BMW has not disappointed us with yet another sports car that handles well in and out of corners and accelerates readily when needed. For that reason I left D.C. after sightseeing for the country, fun roads of Virginia!
