“Summer, Summer, Summer Time!” Yes, the cool lyrics from everyone’s beloved “Summertime” by Fresh Prince & Jazzy Jeff. I was in Los Angeles, CA during the BET Awards this year and the great folks at Ford provided me with the 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid. I must admit that I had never driven a Ford before. However, throughout the years I have definitely witnessed a difference in the brand and model upgrades. They have become more sleek and appealing to younger demographics with all of the technology features offered.
When the hybrid sedan arrived I instantly fell in love with the color. It was a gold hue so I decided to call her “Goldie” and drive her around LA attending some of the hottest events! This car is a GEM and I am a 32-year-old woman who loves her rides. From the rims, to the audio system to the smooth ride and Bluetooth capabilities I fell in love like a Prince song. It’s also pretty awesome if you’re an iPhone carrier (not sure if it works the same with an Android) because as soon as you enter the Ford’s cabin and set up Bluetooth the Apple CarPlay pops up and replicates your phone’s interface. Yes, the text, phone, maps, Pandora and a few other apps would display on the screen. And with the text messages (as you know to not text and drive) it will read the messages through audio and you can respond back by speaking.
The house I was staying at was up in the hills so I noticed firsthand the supreme braking coming down fast, winding turns. When driving very late at night the high beams would automatically turn on and then shut off when another vehicle was sensed. Truly, I loved every inch of the Fusion. Oh and did I mention the sunroof? It definitely was great for those selfies as the natural light was able to come through.
Towards the end, even though I had a smile on my face, I was sad to leave “Goldie” in LA. The 2017 Ford Fusion is definitely a vehicle that you can trust and is reliable to get you from point A to B and even adding C and D. Also, I might add that being a female driving this female in the evening I also felt very safe and it’s really due to all of the wonderful features installed. Alerting you more than once that your gas is low or when you may have switched lanes a bit the vehicle suggests you stop and maybe have coffee. I am guessing that the Fusion is sensing that maybe you are tired. How brilliant is that!
For one of the hottest red carpet events in LA my PR friend and girlfriend cruised in the 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid while arriving to the BET Fashion Show and Awards in style on that Sunday afternoon.
In conclusion, I am very happy I was provided one of Ford’s latest and greatest. It’s not the first car I would think about, however I was styling and profiling in LA with one of the smoothest rides ever and have Ford to thanks! For more information on the Ford Fusion, please visit www.ford.com.
