NInternational Nikola “Tesla Electric Car” Rally to Connect Major Tourism Hotspots in Croatia: Nikola Tesla EV Rally Croatia, May 27th to May 31stewlyweds asked for their expertise in perfecting the eco-honeymoon


The first international electric car rally to be held in Croatia, the Nikola Tesla EV Rally Croatia 2014, will kick off on May 27th 2014. The rally will encompass 530 miles across some of Croatia’s tourism hotspots, accompanied by entertainment programs to introduce a new project “The Green Tourism Highway”. The project is set to promote not just the use of electric cars, but also Croatian tourism, ecological sustainability and innovation.

The rally will be divided into five separate legs, each about 100 miles long.  The starting point on May 27th is Pula, continuing to Porec, Rovinj, Icici, Opatija, National Park Paklenica, Zadar, National Park Krka, National Park Plitvice Lakes, Nikola Tesla’s birth place; the village of Smiljani, before ending in Croatia’s capital city; Zagreb.

Specially modified EV charging stations will also be unveiled for the Nikola Tesla Rally during April. The location of the first station is set to open in front of hotel Lone, the first Croatian design hotel and also the first hotel that joined the program. The EV charging stations will double as interactive tourism information panels. They will be placed along the rally route, about 40 miles apart, on locations near tourism attractions.


The rally was unveiled on March 6th 2014 during a presentation in Zagreb in conjunction with a showcase of the latest models of electric vehicles Dok-ing Loox, Tesla S, Mitsubishi i- MiEV, Rimac Greyp bike, ” Free Duck ” and charging station for electric vehicles by Ducati.
