Automotive Rhythms Furious 7 week was indeed a Furious One with all of the events we had scheduled in anticipation of the movie premiere release. Nissan was so gracious to send us the crowd-pleasing 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo in Cherry R ed. With this new redesign, Nissan heightened the Z’s appeal with a fresh look, gearbox and new seats. The new LED running lamps, darkened headlamp bezels and the NISMO emblem above the grille gave the Nismo a very aggressive outline. The wheel wells are now holding a set of charcoal-colored 19-inch forged-aluminum rays wheels, gleamingly show off the bright red brake calipers that are tucked behind them.
Kicking off the high-octane week, the Automotive Rhythms team hosted a Furious 7 brunch at one of the most renowned restaurants in Washington DC, The Gryphon. Whether your palette desires chicken and waffles or a Kale salad, the menu contained various options for all invited. Patrons were given Furious 7 swag such as hats, posters and t–shirts as well as car care products from our product sponsors at Mothers Polish. The 2015 Nissan 370Z was prominently displayed outside of the Gryphon for patrons to check out and take pictures with. A few lucky prize winners were gifted some VIP gifts from another one of our product sponsors, Bose.
Originally envisioned to be a track special, the 370Z Nismo was introduced without many features. Demand has grown so much that Nissan has decided to release a new Tech model to the Nismo lineup, which brings a navigation system with a 7 display, a backup camera, Bose audio with satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a universal garage-door opener. Along with these amenities the Nismo is no slouch in the performance department. This 2015 model is now offered with a 7-speed, paddle-shifted automatic transmission with rev-matching downshifts. The model that Automotive Rhythms tested was the Z’s 6-speed manual, so our need for speed was emphatically met. Kicking out 18 more horsepower than the standard 370Z, the Nismo comes with a 350-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine.
Closing out the week for the Nissan 370Z was the grand finale at the Regal Majestic in Silver Spring Maryland for the Automotive Rhythms early premiere of Furious 7. Guests witnessed the present of out magnificent auto showcase as shown in the movie. The automotive spectacle put smiles on kid’s faces and brought gratitude to fans and followers of the Fast & Furious franchise who won show tickets, posters, Mothers car kits, Bose headphones, tickets for race events at Maryland International Raceway and swag bags from Shoe City.
The 2015 Nissan Nismo 370Z was a great sports car to have for this Furious week. Base price starting at around $30,895, be sure to go check it out and have the remarkable experience that I did.
