Over 300 guests gathered at the Longview Gallery in Washington, D.C. this past weekend for Summertime Ride and Rhythms hosted by Automotive Rhythms (AR) and Volkswagen. The fun filled summer kick-off, presented in conjunction with DARCARS VW Silver Spring, MD; FUZE, Reebok, Beam Inc., Bartenura, GLITTARAZZI.com, Yelp D.C., The Sneaker Suite, Young & Reckless, VW Vortex, D.C. Commission on The Arts and Humanities, and the Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce was a continuation of AR’s 10-Year Anniversary and the Washington Auto Show Celebration in January where D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray lauded AR’s many accomplishments in the automotive industry. To see the story and video recap please view www.budurl.com/AR10 and www.budurl.com/AR10Pics.

The festive atmosphere was evident from the moment of arrival. At the entrance of the venue patrons were greeted with a convoy of VW Jettas and the chance to test drive and evaluate the attractive import. Once inside the art gallery partygoers enjoyed displays of the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid and 2012 Beetle, complementary finger food, and live musical performances by soul garage band Black Alley and percussionists Gilliam Music featuring Papa Aziz. The daytime celebration also featured a free throw contest — hosted by Washington Wizards Shelvin Mack — where ten lucky sharp shooters received a pair of new Reeboks. Congrats to Rashard Green for the top overall score.

Did we mention that gift bags from fashion partners Young & Reckless and Under Armor were in higher demand than the food and drinks? See you in September when we do it again.
