Experience and Photos by Adrian McQueen
The Automotive Rhythms 2015 Chrysler 300C has now been showcased up and down the east coast for almost a year now, making its mark in the automotive enthusiast world. When you reside in the Washington, DC area, better known as the DMV, it is a must to showcase your ride at Katie’s Cars and Coffee in Great Falls, Virginia. It’s the premier locale for auto aficionados, collectors and fans.
Yes, at Katie’s Cars and Coffee there are no shortages of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Aston Martins, Rolls Royces and many other luxury brands but that element is solely not what this gathering is about. The turnout here is a crazy scene with vehicles of every type imaginable such as Rat Rods, American muscle, Italian passion, Japanese precision, German Engineering, British elite, classics, exotics, hot-rods, motorcycles and motorsport vehicles. Let’s just say you are gazing at a couple million dollars worth of inventory every Saturday morning!
The aesthetics of the Automotive Rhythms “Moparized” 300C immediately attracted attention as I pulled into the lot. First sight of the 300C gives you an epic panorama of the granite crystal grille, chrome mirrors and door handles, dual exhaust tips, extended sunroof, tall vertical taillamps and chrome highlights framing the glass. Once I parked the first thing asked by a spectator was “so what work did you get done because that does not sound or look like any Chrysler 300C that I have ever seen?” This sparked the conversation about the aftermarket Mopar Stage 1 Performance Package which added another 20 horsepower and 23 lb-ft of torque to the HEMI V8, cold air intake, cat-back exhaust system, high flow oil filter, premium fuel powertrain control module, 20” gloss black rims wrapped in a new pair of 245/45R20 Yokohama ADVAN Sport A/S tires, center caps, bright pedal kit, door sill entry guards with Mopar logo, front strut tower brace, front strut tower brace with caps and premium floor mats showcasing the blue Mopar emblem. Mopar is the aftermarket division of Chrysler, Jeep, RAM and FIAT and manufactures warranty-backed appearance accessories and performance parts. As many agreed, they hit the nail on the head with this package!
Every time I attend Katie’s Cars and Coffee I meet great people and commune with friends that make the long trek because they share the same passion for the automotive world as I do. There is a common bond in the air which sparks conversation about restoration or modifications on the vehicles that are being displayed. Katie’s Coffee House is a completely informal (not an organized group or club) gathering of automobile enthusiasts which has no written rules, no entry fee, no prizes, no formal competition or judging, no special requirements and no stress. Wake up early and come out to enjoy great rides with good company.
